Account Reconciliation v26.3 Release Notes

This topic describes feature enhancements for Account Reconciliation v26.3, released on 6 October 2026.

Feature Enhancements Summary

The following new features and enhancements are introduced in Account Reconciliation v26.3.

Feature

Description

Availability

RBC Direct Bank Connector

A new RBC bank connector is available for connecting RBC bank accounts directly to Account Reconciliation. The connector works similarly to the existing Plaid integration — bank accounts are pulled from the RBC connection, added to the Bank Accounts section, and transaction lines and balances are fetched automatically for reconciliation.

Add "None" Risk Level to Categories

Categories now support a "None" risk level option, allowing administrators to exclude categorized items from the Unmatched Risk Dashboard while preserving their categorization for operational tracking. Items with None risk are hidden from all dashboard views and risk calculations, while uncategorized items continue to default to High risk.

Enterprise

Auto-Start Reconciliation

Reconciliations now automatically start and advance through periods when GL and bank accounts are connected to integrated data sources (ERP integrations, bank feeds, or connectors). When sufficient balances exist, the first open period automatically transitions to In Progress and triggers auto-matching. Subsequent periods automatically advance after submission, and are held if a period is rejected, ensuring period integrity.

Enterprise

Column-Level Sort and Filters on Matched tab

The Matched tab in Reconciliation details page now includes column-level sorting options for Date, Amount, Confidence Level, Account Number, Description, and Trading Partner. A new Filters option lets you narrow matched transactions by Confidence Level, Date, Amount, Description, and Trading Partner, and combine multiple filters at once. Sorts apply at the match level, keeping matched pairs together as single blocks, and sort selections persist across searches, filters, and unmatch actions for consistent navigation.

Enterprise

Legal Entity Selector

A legal entity selector is introduced to the top navigation bar, allowing users to filter the application view by legal entity. When a legal entity is selected, the Dashboard, Reconciliations list, and Files are filtered to display only data associated with that legal entity. The selection persists across navigation within the session. The Files module also introduces period-based filtering, new tabs (All, Attached, Not Attached), and updated file statuses to support the legal entity filter.

Reconciliation Tolerance Override

Administrators can configure a submission tolerance that controls the maximum unmatched balance permitted at submission. The tolerance can be set as a fixed currency amount, a percentage of the account balance, or the higher of the two.

  • Reconciliation level — configured per template in the Add/Edit Reconciliation dialog; the resolved threshold is displayed on the reconciliation details page so preparers know the submission requirement before submitting.

  • System level — a system-wide default tolerance configured in Settings > Configuration; applies to all reconciliations that do not have a reconciliation-level override set. The system ships with a default of Currency Amount = 1.00, preserving backward compatibility.

Intercompany Reconciliation

This release introduces Intercompany as a new reconciliation type, enabling finance teams to reconcile GL accounts between two legal entities. Administrators configure an intercompany template by selecting a GL account and a counterparty GL account from different legal entities. Both sides are ERP-sourced, and the reconciliation supports automatic and manual matching, carry-over lines, workflow, and statement export. Transaction-level currency is supported — lines can be in any transaction currency, with KPI card balances displayed in the GL Account's functional currency using exchange rate conversion. Opening carryover line imports include a Currency field.

Grouped Reconciliations (1:M, M:1, M:M)

This release extends reconciliation templates to support one-to-many (1:M), many-to-one (M:1), and many-to-many (M:M) account mappings. Reconciliations can now include multiple GL accounts and support sources within a single reconciliation, with aggregated balances and transactions, account-level visibility, enhanced dashboard reporting, support balance management, bank statement handling, and reopen processing across grouped accounts.

Standard Reconciliation (Manual Reconciliation Re-Design)

The Manual reconciliation type is redesigned and renamed Standard. Preparers create support lines that substantiate the GL balance, with support for categorization, line-level comments, line-level attachments, bulk import, and automatic carry-forward between periods.

Dashboard Enhancements

This release updates the reconciliation dashboard: Unmatched Risk and Aging items are now displayed by Reconciliation and Support Type instead of by Legal Entity. Top 10 Risk Items are now categorized by GL Accounts, Bank Accounts, and Support Lines, making it easier to identify and prioritize high-risk items.

Additional Transaction and Reference Fields

Bank account reconciliations now capture additional transaction and reference information across imported transactions and opening carryover lines. Preparers can view and maintain details such as document number, reference number, check number, entry or transaction type, and payment method to improve transaction identification and matching.

Reconciliation Templates

This release introduces a new Reconciliations tab in Administration for creating and managing reconciliation templates. Administrators can define the reconciliation name, support source, assignees, and account relationships, providing a centralized framework for reconciliation setup and management. The release also adds a Show Disabled option that allows administrators to view disabled GL accounts and bank accounts while creating or editing reconciliation templates.

GL Accounts Tab

This release introduces the GL Accounts tab (replacing the Accounts tab) for managing accounts available for reconciliation. Administrators can enable or disable accounts, manage account availability for reconciliation templates, and manually create GL accounts for Free License environments. The release also adds support for bulk enable and disable actions, allowing administrators to update multiple GL accounts simultaneously while preventing accounts that are actively used in reconciliation templates from being disabled.

Audit Tracking: Reconciliation Workflow Tracking

This release introduces a Reports module with an Audit Tracking Report that provides a detailed record of all reconciliation workflow events including status changes, line item modifications, file uploads, and comments. The report supports period selection, filters, free-text search, and export to Excel and PDF.

RBC Direct Bank Connector

A new RBC bank connector is available for connecting RBC bank accounts directly to Account Reconciliation. The RBC connector works similarly to the existing Plaid integration — once connected, RBC bank accounts are pulled into the Bank Accounts section, and transaction lines and closing balances are fetched automatically for each reconciliation period.

The RBC connector appears as a separate integration card in the integrations settings. Users connect their RBC account through the connector, select the bank accounts to enable, and the system associates those accounts with GL accounts for reconciliation.

Note: The RBC connector is specific to RBC bank accounts and is separate from the Plaid integration. All other bank account reconciliation behavior remains the same once accounts are connected.

For more information, see Managing Integrations.

Add "None" Risk Level to Categories

Categories now include a None risk level option alongside High, Medium, and Low. Items assigned to a category with None risk are automatically hidden from the Unmatched Risk Dashboard, removing them from all risk calculations and KPI displays while preserving their categorization for operational reference. Uncategorized items continue to default to High risk, ensuring no items are hidden without explicit classification.

For more information, see Managing Categories.

Auto-Start Reconciliation

Reconciliations now automatically start and advance through periods when GL and bank accounts are connected to integrated data sources (ERP integrations, bank feeds, or connectors). When you create a reconciliation instance, the system checks for sufficient balances. If balances exist on both sides (or GL side alone for Standard reconciliation types), the first open period automatically transitions to In Progress and triggers auto-matching without manual intervention.

After you submit a period for review, the next period automatically evaluates for auto-start eligibility based on available balances. If balances are present, the next period moves to In Progress and auto-matches, creating continuous workflow progression. If a submitted period is rejected during review and reverts to In Progress, the next period is held in Not Started until the current period moves beyond Preparation, ensuring period integrity and preventing downstream periods from advancing while an earlier one remains incomplete.

For more information, see Reconciliation Overview.

Column-Level Sort and Filters on Matched tab

The Matched Items tab in the Reconciliations details page now includes column-level sorting options that allow users to organize matched pairs by Date, Amount, Confidence Level, Account Number, Description, or Trading Partner. Sorts apply at the match level, keeping matched pairs together as single contiguous blocks rather than splitting them by individual rows. Sort selections persist across searches, filters, and unmatch actions, maintaining user preference throughout the reconciliation workflow.

A new Filters option expands a filter section where you can narrow matched transactions by Confidence Level, Date, Amount, Description, and Trading Partner. You can combine filters across the entire dataset, and the matched list shows only the transactions that meet all selected criteria. Active filters are labeled, and Clear All removes them in one step.

For more information, see Manage Transactions in Matched Tab in Bank Account Reconciliations Article.

Legal Entity Selector

A legal entity selector is now available in the top header bar, allowing users to filter the entire application view by a specific legal entity. The selector is displayed to the left of the Period selector and loads all legal entities available to the user.

When a legal entity is selected, the filter applies across:

  • Dashboard — all KPI cards, charts, and risk data are filtered to the selected legal entity.

  • Reconciliations — the reconciliation list displays only reconciliations associated with accounts in the selected legal entity.

  • Files — files associated with reconciliations belonging to the selected legal entity are displayed. Error files and files that cannot be associated with a specific legal entity or period remain visible in all views.

The selected legal entity persists across navigation within the session. Users can return to the full view at any time by selecting All from the legal entity selector.

Files Module Updates

With the introduction of period filtering and the legal entity selector, the Files module has been updated with new tabs and file statuses:

  • Tabs — Files are now organized into three tabs: All (all files), Attached (files linked to a reconciliation or checklist), and Not Attached (files not linked to any reconciliation or checklist, including error, orphaned, and pending-action files).

  • File Statuses — File statuses are updated to: Ready (processed successfully), Need Attention (requires user action), and Error (processing failed). The previous Orphaned, Pending User Action, and Completed statuses are replaced.

  • Period Filter — Files can now be filtered by period. Error files, whose period cannot be determined, remain visible across all periods.

Note: Files that cannot be associated with a specific legal entity or period — such as error files — are displayed in all periods and all legal entity views by default.

For more information, see Explore Account Reconciliation User Interface.

Export Reconciliation Statement

Reconciliation statements can now be exported to PDF and CSV in addition to Excel. When a user initiates a statement export — either from the reconciliation list or from the reconciliation details page — the available format options are presented before the file is downloaded.

PDF Export

The PDF export produces a statement with the same layout and information as the Excel export. If the reconciliation includes attachments, all attachment pages are appended to the PDF in full after the statement. PDF export is available for all reconciliation types.

CSV Export

The CSV export produces a flat file with the same information as the Excel export at Summary + Detail level. Attachments are not included in CSV exports. CSV export is available for all reconciliation types.

  • For Bank Account and Intercompany reconciliations, the Export Reconciliation Statement dialog presents Excel, PDF, and CSV as format options.

  • For Standard reconciliations, clicking Export displays a dropdown with Excel, PDF, and CSV options directly — the file downloads immediately with no dialog.

For more information, see the Export Reconciliation Statement section in Bank Account Reconciliations, Standard Reconciliations, and Intercompany Reconciliations.

Reconciliation Tolerance Override

Administrators can now configure a submission tolerance that controls the maximum unmatched balance permitted when a preparer submits a reconciliation for review. The tolerance replaces the previous hardcoded $1.00 threshold and is configured per reconciliation in the Add or Edit Reconciliation dialog.

Reconciliation level

The reconciliation-level tolerance takes precedence over the system default. The resolved threshold is displayed as a chip in the Account KPI section of the reconciliation details page — live-resolved during Preparation and snapshotted at submission so reviewers and approvers see the value that was in effect when the preparer submitted.

The tolerance supports the following types:

  • Use System Default — with note that it applies the system-wide default from Settings > Configuration and displays the current value below the dropdown

Currency Amount — a fixed value in the account's legal entity currency.

  • Percentage of Balance — a percentage applied to the absolute value of the account balance at submission.

  • Higher of Currency Amount or Percentage of Balance — the system calculates both and applies whichever is higher.

For more information, see Managing Reconciliation Templates.

System Default

A system-wide default tolerance is configured in Settings > Configuration. The system default applies to all reconciliations that do not have a reconciliation-level override set, and ships with a default of Currency Amount = 1.00 to preserve backward compatibility with existing behavior.

The same tolerance types are supported at the system level: Currency Amount, Percentage of Balance, and Higher of Currency Amount or Percentage of Balance.

For more information, see Managing Configuration.

Intercompany Reconciliation

This release introduces Intercompany Reconciliation as a new reconciliation type, enabling close teams to reconcile GL accounts between two legal entities directly within Account Reconciliation. Intercompany reconciliation matches a GL account in one legal entity against a counterparty GL account in a second legal entity — both sides sourced from the ERP. No bank statement or manual support upload is required.

An administrator creates an intercompany reconciliation template by selecting a GL account (left side) and a counterparty GL account (right side) from different legal entities. Both sides are populated with transaction lines from the ERP integration.

In an intercompany reconciliation:

  • The GL Balance reflects the closing balance of the left-side GL account for the period.

  • The Counterparty GL Balance replaces the Support Balance and reflects the closing balance of the counterparty GL account for the period.

  • Transaction lines are matched across both sides. Because intercompany transactions represent opposite-sign entries, a debit on one side matches to a credit of the same amount on the other.

  • Automatic and manual matching, comments, categories, carry-over lines, workflow, and export are all supported.

  • Submit for Review is enabled only when the difference between the GL Balance and the Counterparty GL Balance is within the configured tolerance.

  • Grouping can be enabled only between accounts of legal entities that use the same currency on the same side.

Cross-Currency Support

Transaction lines on both sides can be recorded in any transaction currency, regardless of the account's functional currency. All KPI card balances are displayed in the GL Account's functional currency, with exchange rates applied for conversion. A Currency field is available when adding or importing opening carryover lines.

Auto-Start

In the first period, if a balance exists on either side, the reconciliation moves to In Progress automatically. From the second period onwards, once a preparer submits a reconciliation for review, the next period's reconciliation moves to In Progress automatically if a balance exists on either side.

For more information, see Intercompany Reconciliations.

Reconciliation Type Filter

The Reconciliations list now includes a Type filter that allows users to view reconciliations by support source type, such as Bank Account, Standard, or Intercompany. The filter can be combined with existing search and filter options to simplify navigation of large reconciliation lists.

For more information, see Reconciliation List Page.

Grouped Reconciliations (1:M, M:1, M:M)

This release extends reconciliation templates to support grouped reconciliations, allowing administrators to reconcile multiple GL accounts and support sources within a single reconciliation. Supported mappings include one-to-many (1:M), many-to-one (M:1), and many-to-many (M:M).

Grouped reconciliations provide a consolidated reconciliation experience while preserving visibility into the individual accounts that participate in the reconciliation. GL and support balances are aggregated at the reconciliation level, and dashboard reporting, risk analysis, and aging calculations are performed at the reconciliation level.

For more information, see Grouped Reconciliations and Bank Account Reconciliations.

Standard Reconciliation (Manual Reconciliation Re-Design)

This release introduces Standard Reconciliation, a redesign of the existing Manual reconciliation type. Standard reconciliation is intended for accounts where the objective is to substantiate a GL balance using supporting line items rather than match transactions.

The GL Balance is retrieved from the ERP, the Support Balance is automatically calculated from support lines, and the Difference is calculated automatically. This release introduces the following:

  • Support line management — add, edit, delete, and bulk import support lines.

  • Categorization and comments — assign a category and add a comment at the line level.

  • Line-level attachments — attach files to individual support lines; each line displays an upload button and an attachment count indicator that navigates to the Files module with pre-filters applied. Attachments on carried-forward lines from prior periods are view-only and cannot be deleted.

  • Carry-forward — support lines carry forward automatically between periods.

  • Tolerance-based submission — submit for review only when the difference is within the configured tolerance.

For more information, see Standard Reconciliations.

Dashboard Enhancements

The reconciliation dashboard now reports unmatched risk and unmatched aging by reconciliation rather than by legal entity. The Top 10 Risk Items section separates items into GL Accounts, Bank Accounts, and Support Lines (Standard Reconciliations), making it easier to identify and prioritize high-risk items across reconciliation types.

For more information, see Unmatched Risk Dashboard and Unmatched Aging Dashboard.

Additional Transaction and Reference Fields

Bank account reconciliations now capture additional transaction and reference information across imported transactions and opening carryover lines. The additional fields include document number, reference number, check number, entry or transaction type, and payment method. These fields are populated automatically from connected ERP systems, Plaid integrations, and supported bank statement formats where available.

For more information, see Bank Account Reconciliations.

Reconciliation Templates

Account Reconciliation introduces a new Reconciliations tab in Administration for creating and managing reconciliation templates. Templates define the reconciliation structure, including the reconciliation name, support type, participating accounts, and assigned users.

The release also adds a Show Disabled option that allows administrators to view disabled GL accounts and bank accounts while creating or editing reconciliation templates, without leaving the template configuration workflow.

For more information, see Managing Reconciliation Templates.

GL Accounts Tab

Account Reconciliation introduces a new GL Accounts tab in Administration, replacing the previous Accounts tab. Administrators can manage the GL accounts available for reconciliation by enabling or disabling accounts. Enterprise and Professional accounts automatically import GL accounts from the connected ERP. Free License accounts can create and maintain GL accounts manually.

The release also introduces bulk enable and disable actions, allowing administrators to update multiple GL accounts simultaneously. GL accounts currently referenced by reconciliation templates cannot be disabled.

For more information, see Managing GL Accounts.
